Our Team
Dr. Robert Guffey, Jr.
Pastor
Bob began serving as Pastor on January 1, 2017. Bob is married to Angie and they have 2 adult children, four grandchildren, a lively pup named Lucy, and a mostly friendly cat named Nora.
Bob came to Freemason Street after serving churches in Connecticut, Louisiana, Texas, and South Carolina. He is a graduate of Emory University (Candler School of Religion, Doctor of Ministry), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), Louisiana State University (BS). He has also studied at Columbia Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

The best part of ministry for Bob is working to help people make connections with God and others. In service to the vision of a world growing in God’s love and unity, he has served as founding board members for a Habitat for Humanity regional affiliate, a multifaith-private-public partnership-based community center, and the Center of Hope: Haiti, an orphanage and school project in Hinche, Haiti.

The intersection of faith and art informs his understanding of God and the world. His callings include teaching, writing, learning, design, guitar, and (occasionally) fly fishing.
Rev. Sara Hubble
Associate Pastor
Sara joined the team in September 2024. She and her hound dog Jethro enjoy exploring life on the coast after years of living in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Sara previously served as Operations and Pastoral Director of a summer camp and retreat ministry and has served several Virginia churches in various ministerial roles. She is a graduate of Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (Master of Divinity with Biblical Interpretation) and Bluefield College (BA).

Curating space for people to explore faith in Christ and experience compassionate community are Sara's favorite elements of ministry. She enjoys studying the intersection of emotional intelligence and faithful discipleship and loves to witness God at work globally having partnered with ministries on 5 continents. Sara relaxes by spending time outside, connecting with friends and family, and can usually be found with a cup of strong coffee in her hand.
